Washington Apple Martini

This is all Joyce's fault.  Every bit of it.  We meet Joyce and Gary for dinner at Bonefish.  It's about halfway between their house in Columbus, IN and ours in Indianapolis, IN.  Now, I love a particular wine at Bonefish.  It's a Blue Moon Pinot Noir.  And, it's fabulous with my normal dinner - Bang Bang Shrimp and the house salad with blue cheese crumbles.  So I don't want to order a different drink.  Nota bene (note well for those of you who didn't have several years of Latin - lol):  I normally avoid chains so I'm supporting my local merchants.  Bonefish is an exception.  Now, Joyce doesn't much care for wine.  Can't stand red wine and isn't too thrilled with white wine.  She almost always orders a Washington Apple Martini.  Needless, to say, being the curious person that I am, I've snitched a taste.  It's really good.  Then, last Christmas, she made us these awesome martini glasses.

Is she talented or what?  Now, we can sip these and think about all the fun we've all had dining together!  Here's to Joyce and Gary - CHEERS!

Washington Apple Martini
3 oz Crown Royal
3 oz DeKuyper Apple Pucker
3 oz cranberry juice
cinnamon and sugar

Blend the Crown Royal, Apple Pucker and cranberry juice in a shaker filled with ice.  Rim your glasses with cinnamon and sugar.

Strain the drinks into the glasses.  Serves two.

I've always wanted to like martinis... That whole Bond, James Bond thing. Or maybe it is just the sophisticated glass. I'm more of a tequila girl, so maybe that is my issue. These look tempting though!

Oh, I love the Bang Bang Shrimp at Bonefish! The apple martini looks incredible too. I'll bet it would be fantastic with a bit of Goldschlager, a cinnamon schnapps, in it.

We have made so many kinds of martinis in the last few years. Always fun to try new flavors.

This drink was called an Ocean's 11on the Princess Cruise ship we were in on in 2008.

These are making me a little thirsty, I think you should blame it on Joyce!
